Job Description

Job Title: Mentoring Facilitator Part-Time: 20 to 25 hours a week Lutheran Family & Children's Services of Missouri has an opportunity for someone wanting to make a positive difference in the lives of our youth. The Mentoring Facilitator will provide youth development services in group settings that will enable them to lead healthy productive lives and to increase parent participation in the program. Duties include: Facilitating group mentoring and leadership developmental sessions to focus on social competency for children ages 6 to 17. Provide anger management training and drug prevention to participating youth. Establish a support system for parents and maintain effective lines of communication with schools, apartment complexes, community centers, churches and other stakeholders involved with participants. Maintaining and keeping current records documenting program activities, behavioral interventions, youth assessments, performance based measures and outcomes for each participant, and support services provided to parents. Job Requirements

Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work or related degree. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of youth development practices and developmental assets. Knowledge of skills-building training for participants, community resources and basic computer programs. Ability to relate to youth, parents and families in positive ways. Be able to work in a team environment. Effective communication, group facilitation skills, strong organizational, problem-solving and planning skills. Must be a licensed driver with access to a reliable automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements.
