Job Description

Professional Counseling Supervisor Lutheran Family and Children’s Services of Missouri is seeking a compassionate, professional individual to provide effective counseling/therapy services to clients and families and to provide clinical and practical supervision and administrative oversight to professional counseling staff and practicum students. This is a fulltime position. Duties: • Provide effective counseling/therapy to clients including case coordination and crisis intervention as needed. • Provide consultation for other professionals and family members. • Maintain accurate and complete client records. • Provide community mental health presentations and crisis debriefing as agreed upon with Director. • Provide clinical and practical supervision for counseling staff, including case consultation, review of documentation, performance evaluations and training as appropriate. • Provide professional supervision to practicum students and licensure candidates as needed.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: Masters degree in a mental health related field. Licensed by the State of Missouri, in Clinical Social Work or Professional Counseling (LCSW or LPC). Supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of counseling theories and practices, therapeutic models and interventions. Knowledge of mental health assessment and treatment planning. Knowledge of ethical standards and legal regulations. Knowledge of community resources. Knowledge of best practices in supervision and programs. Knowledge of supervision requirements for clinical licensure candidates and practicum students. Effective professional therapeutic skills. Crisis intervention skills. Ability to function on a team. Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain accurate client records. Time management skills and organizational skills. We are an equal opportunity employer.
